The Pocklington School Foundation (PSF) Careers and Business Network held its latest event in the Schools’ new Art & Design Technology Centre recently, with the focus for the evening on creative and small businesses. The guest speakers for the evening were former pupils Beth Todd, who left the School in 2014, and James Wilkinson who left in 2010.

Writer Richard Pinto – whose credits include The Kumars at No. 42 and Elvenquest – was guest speaker at this year’s James Bowman Lecture at King’s Ely.

​Vanessa Pearson left Churcher’s College in 2016 to go to the Arts University Bournemouth to pursue her passion for art and design. This summer Vanessa graduated with a First Class BA (Hons) degree in Modelmaking and the highest grade in her year. She was also awarded the ‘Dean’s Prize for the School of Art, Design and Architecture’ at her graduation ceremony.

Burgess Hill Girls hosted a seminar by leading education expert Mungo Dunnett on the skills that will best prepare teenagers to be successful in the future workplace. Top of his list was the ability to solve complex problems.

Pocklington School’s Careers & Business Network has been busy over the past 12 months sharing advice and experiences to help inspire the next generation of students as they consider their career options.

​On 22nd September, the Wellington Community held a career speed-networking event for all year groups, from the Third Form to the Upper Sixth. 90 students and 44 parents took part in an evening that was informative and inspiring in equal measure.
